Oils and ergonomics

Working with oils can cause a lot of strain on the neck-arm-and schoulder muscles. The technique requires working in "layers" and the paint dries only slowly.
In order not to lean with your hands and arms in the wet paint, you are always working with your arms "up" and therefor you are carrying the weight of your own arms for hours and hours.
Arms are not very heavy, and for most people this is not a problem at all, but if you have R.S.I. or another muscle-defect, like me this causes pain, trouble..and soon it will be over and out!

It works very smooth, and follows my every movement. It does nothing more or less than carry the weight of my arm.

These days I use this fantastic ergonomic device. My boyfriend develloped it, and it is made out of car-parts.There is only one down-side: the size of the paintings is limited.

I am very excited about this device myself and since I'm probably not the only artist with muscle-problems, I have added this page to my website. Please don't hesitate to email me for more information:
