* What I call "Mixed Media" is a combined techinque. Iwork layer over layer with differend materials.
The base is pastel ( 80- 95 %) But I need many layers of pastel because I fixate every layer heavily.
The pastel chalk absorbes the lak of the fixative and looses color. That way I might need up-untill six layers of pastel.
On top I add a layer of coloured pensil for finer details and last for the extra-fine details a layer of paint.
And finally an extra layer of varnish.The result is a work of art that looks like a painting, it's deep and firm as a painting, but is as flexible as a drawing.
