* What I call "Mixed Media" is a combined techinque. Iwork layer over layer with differend materials.
The base is pastel ( 80- 98 %) I need many layers of pastel because I fixate every layer heavily.
The pastel chalk absorbes the lac of the fixative and looses colour. That way I might need up-untill six layers of pastel to get what I want.
On top I add a layer of coloured pencil on certain areas for finer details and last for the extra-fine details like tiny whiskers a "layer " of paint.
And finally an extra layer of varnish.The result is a work of art that looks like a painting, that is deep and firm as a painting, but is as flexible as a drawing.
